Failure is going to be a part of your path to success. Whether it is while pursuing your dream, or just in everyday life. You may have such high hopes for yourself. You may have people believing in you or depending on you. Then, you reach a roadblock or setback and fail to perform. How humiliating. Now you are left to explain to others that it didn’t work out or it didn’t happen. You feel like a disappointment and a failure. It can be such a huge setback, that you may want to give up on your idea or dream altogether. Do not give up!
I have seen so many of you out there trying to live out your dream. You have taken courses, started a new job, started your own business, left behind toxic relationships or wrote a book. Some of you are in the process of making life changing decisions and are just taking the first few steps? How brave of you for taking those steps. I commend you for it. It takes guts to make a decision to venture out into the “unknown”. To leave the familiar behind and be vulnerable enough to pursue what you feel in your heart is the right thing. To do what you are meant to do, or need to do. It can be scary.
It is so hard to keep going when you are not seeing results right away. Be patient. It takes time to cultivate your vision. It can be frustrating when you are investing time and money and things are not turning out as great or happening as fast as you had hoped. But if you believe in something wholeheartedly and you went for it…you are already a success. You had the courage enough to try, when others did not. You will never want to look back and wonder “what if”, “I could have”, “I should have”, and “I wonder what would have happened if only”. Regrets are the worse. At least you had the courage to try and you now know what not to do. You will be that much wiser and have learned skills to prevent failure. It may give you even more drive and determination to succeed. Either way, failure is not the end. It is only really a failure, if you give up.
Write It Down
Write down your goals and vision. This helps to keep you accountable and focused. It will also remind why you made a decision in the first place, if you start feeling like a failure.
Visualize
Visualization is a great tool for achieving success. Creating a vision board can help aid you. There is a great quote by Napoleon Hill that you may want to put on your vision board. “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve”. I have put it on my vision board.
Commitment and Dedication
Keep committed and dedicated. This will build up the momentum for your success.
Some People Will Be Hoping For Your Failure
Be prepared for this. Some insecure people will not be happy for your success. The truth is, they are just angry at themselves for not taking the risk like you were so brave to do.
I hope this gives you inspiration. Do not be afraid to go out in this world and do what you do best! The ones that succeed, follow their burning desires and do not listen to the external distractions. Their inner voice is strong inside them. Strong enough to motivate them to continue to take action, even when they have experienced failure. You will reach roadblocks and obstacles. You may feel like giving up. This is normal. All the successful people have felt this way at some point. You are trying your best and you will make mistakes. You are not a failure, if you fail. Do not give up on the brink of success. Failure can destroy you or make you work harder. You have a choice.
All of us have experienced failure sometime in the past! Ask yourself what did you do then, to make things different? Again, it has happened more than once. Examine your thoughts, look for a common dominator and see if it will work this to help yourself! By doing nothing, you will be come a failure!! Not trying, does not even give you a chance to fail!! Life must go on! Remember, “If at first you don’t succeed, TRY, TRY and TRY AGAIN!!
Great feedback Don! I completely agree with you. It sounds like you are talking from experience. I appreciate your input and encouragement.
