Stars are everywhere here in Los Angeles. Celebrities, aspiring actors, artists, authors, singers etc. There are countless stars along the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I love the energy here. No dream is too big or too crazy. Many times when you tell people your dream, they are encouraging and will open your eyes to even bigger possibilities. People are showcasing the best version of themselves at all times. They never know if the person they are talking to could be that one person who could be in a position to change their life. It is all about connecting and networking. The collective energy is amazing.
I am not saying that everyone should be a Star in a celebrity sense. Not everybody would want that. What I am saying is, why not be a Star in whatever you do? In Chapter 4 of The Greatness Guide, Robin Sharma suggests that you should be a Rock Star at work. “Walk onto the stage of this day and play your heart out. Give the performance of your life. Wow your audience and get them cheering for you. Be the Bono of selling staplers. Be the Keith Richards of accounting. Be the Jimi Hendrix of human resources.”
Many of you have your own dreams and visions in life. Some of you don’t. And that is perfectly normal and okay. This is when you need to be that Rock Star every day and eventually it becomes clear to you. If you are taking a chance on following your own dream, you can use these tips which can lead to life-changing opportunities:
Stand Out and Be a Star
You will be more memorable. Have that edge. Be different.
Work Hard
All the successful stars work countless hours. Their passion drives them. It all comes down to how badly you want it?
Learn from the Best
Find out who is at the top of the field you want to pursue. Learn from the best. They are at the top for a reason.
Always Give It Your All
Not just when you think it matters. It always matter. You never know who is watching or who you will meet. Plus practice makes perfect.
Be Authentic
People connect with people who are “real”. You will also be at your best, when you are being yourself.
Be extraordinary in whatever you do. You will stand out and get noticed. You never know who you will bump into or impress. You can make a difference in someone’s life and be remembered. It can open up doors and possibilities for you. This applies to any job or any stage in your life. Anytime you are doing anything, you should always showcase your best, authentic self. In your everyday life, be a Star.
