Perfectionist are too busy being “perfect”, being the best and excelling at everything. When you are a perfectionist, you believe that there is only one right way; which is the “perfect” way.  You spend your life trying to keep up to these unrealistic and often impossible to reach standards. You get disappointed because no one else can do things as perfectly as you can.  You end up doing most of the things yourself.

Three weeks ago, I wrote about people pleasing and I had received many messages and feedback. If you are a people pleaser, than you are most likely a perfectionist. From experience, the two often go hand-in-hand. You may be too busy trying to please people and perfect things, that you may not have much time to think. You may have the belief that there is nothing better than being perfect, right? It took me many years to figure out that life gets much better when you stop being a perfectionist.

1. A Recovered Perfectionist Can Achieve Excellence Much Faster

You already have the qualities and the drive to become a high-achiever. Without the impossible limitations, you are well ahead of the game!

2. More Relaxed

You become less uptight and can enjoy your natural, amazing life and the people around you. You will no longer freak out when things did not go completely as planned. You stop putting so much pressure and impossible demands on yourself and others.

3. Live Life to the Fullest

You will live your life without the fear of making mistakes or being judged. You will be able to put yourself out there in the world and do the things you have always wanted to do.

4. More Fun

You will be less rigid, softer, and more accepting.  You and others will have more fun.

5. More Energy

It is draining trying to be in control of everything all the time. Living a completely impossible lifestyle is hard to keep up to.

6. More Open Minded

Without the belief of only one right way, you will open your mind up to more possibilities. You will be open to accepting the natural flow and unexpected twists, life throws in.

7. Easier Life

As you let go of the fact that everything needs to be so “perfect”, you will let competent people help you and make your life easier.  Also you will let go of the things that really do not matter in the big picture.

8. More Time

As you let go of impossible expectations and allow the help of competent people, you will have more time.

9. Sense of Accomplishment

Without the unrealistic demands and expectations, you will feel more accomplished. You will be able to succeed at being the best version of yourself.

10. Become Human

Instead of continually be Superman or Wonderwoman, you become human. People will relate to you better. You become more resonating and authentic.

It is an amazing quality to want to strive towards excellence and being the best version of you. Push yourself beyond your limits. Do not let the perfectionist in you limit your dreams and prevent you from living a fulfilling life. You were born to be AWESOME!!!
