Action definitely speaks louder than words. Whether it is keeping a promise, pursuing your dreams or staying true to your character, it is important to take action. Sometimes things can seem overwhelming and we do not know where to start. Each day passes by and we are no further ahead. Or sometimes we are moving, but not fast enough. For those of you that need a little extra push or guidance, these are great suggestions on how you can take action today. Each step will help to bring you closer to reaching your goals and living your ideal life.
1. Overcome Fear:
Overcoming your fear, is probably the biggest and hardest step. Fears prevent us from doing the things we want to do or from following our dreams. You may have a fear of failure, fear of success or fear of being judged…the list goes on. Of course there is a difference between danger and fear and it is important to recognize that distinction before taking action.
2. Just Do It and Take Action Now:
So you recognized that you have fears…now just do it anyway. Do not allow your mind to get in the way of the amazing life that you are meant to live and from doing all of the great things that you can accomplish. You will find that there is such an amazing, liberating and successful life to live on the opposite side of fear.
3. Start With The Small and Easy Things:
If you start with the easier things to cross off your list, you will feel more accomplished. Take baby steps if you have to, but just keep moving forward. If you start with the things that you are least afraid of, it may build up courage. Start taking action and do the things that you have always wanted to try. Just think of how good it will feel to finally say that you did it. Before you know it, you will have an amazing momentum going and you will become unstoppable!
4. Schedule Time:
If a person or thing is important enough to you, you will make time for them. Schedule time in your calendar. When you organize your day or week and schedule your priorities in, you are more likely to do the things that you need/want to do. Also, it allows you to eliminate the excuse of not having enough time.
5. Commit To Something:
This is one I do all the time. I sign myself up for stuff. I purposely commit to things that is hard to back out of to ensure that I do things I want to do. Integrity is one of my core values and my word is extremely important to me. You can sign up for events, courses, teams, gyms anything you desire that helps push you towards being the person that you want to be.
6. Have Someone Hold You Accountable:
When someone is counting on you to be at the gym or to do a project etc, you are more likely to do it. Commit to doing something you love or need to do with a partner. This will help you strive towards the ultimate life you want to live. Also, giving yourself deadlines and routines work best for keeping you on track and accountable.
7. Don’t Give Up
If life gets in the way and you are not always able to stay on track, don’t give up. It is important to not get too hard on yourself. Instead, continue to try and take action…you will eventually get there.
Are your actions congruent with your words? This is your life, your integrity, and your dreams. Live the life that you desire, with the people that you want to spend it with, doing all the things that you have always dreamed of. Anything is possible if you take the first step. Today, let’s consciously take action to represent ourselves in the light that we want to shine and live an extraordinary life.
